Day 5: Exploring Secret Spots
On day 5, I ventured off the beaten path to explore some of Lombok’s hidden surf gems. With the help of local guides and fellow surfers, I discovered secluded coves, deserted beaches, and pristine breaks tucked away from the crowds. Paddling out into the lineup at these secret spots, I revelled in the solitude and serenity of the ocean, catching wave after wave in blissful isolation.
Day 6: Cultural Immersion
Taking a break from the waves, I dedicated day 6 to immersing myself in Lombok’s rich culture and traditions. Venturing into the island’s villages and markets, I was welcomed with open arms by the friendly locals, who shared stories of their heritage and way of life. From sampling traditional Sasak cuisine to learning traditional handicrafts, I embraced the opportunity to connect with the local community and gain a deeper appreciation for Lombok’s vibrant culture.
Day 7: Perfect Waves at Selong Belanak
Selong Belanak, with its pristine sandy beach and perfect peeling waves, beckoned me on day 7. Known for its consistent surf and gentle rolling waves, Selong Belanak offered the perfect playground for surfers of all levels. Paddling out into the lineup, I relished the opportunity to ride wave after wave in the warm tropical waters, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the bay.
Day 8: Sunset Sessions at Mawi
As the sun began to set on day 8, I made my way to Mawi—a legendary surf spot known for its epic waves and stunning sunsets. Paddling out into the lineup as the golden hues of dusk painted the sky, I felt a sense of awe and gratitude wash over me. Catching wave after wave against the backdrop of the setting sun, I savoured the magical moments shared with fellow surfers as we rode the waves into the night.

As I reflect on the past five days in Lombok, I’m filled with gratitude for the countless blessings and unforgettable experiences that this island has bestowed upon me. From perfect waves and sunny days to cultural immersion and moments of serenity, each day has been a testament to the beauty and magic of surfing in Lombok.
