Day 21: Revisiting the Classics – Aganoa Beach and Salamumu
With just over a week left in Samoa, I decided to spend some time revisiting the surf spots that had made the biggest impression on me. My first stop was Aganoa Beach, where I had experienced some of the best waves of my trip during the first few days.
The conditions were just as good as I remembered, with perfect left-handers peeling along the reef. I spent the morning riding wave after wave, feeling more in tune with the break than ever before. It was a perfect session, reminding me of why I had fallen in love with this spot in the first place.
In the afternoon, I returned to Salamumu Beach for a more relaxed session. The waves were gentle and playful, providing the perfect contrast to the more intense surf at Aganoa. I spent the day soaking in the beauty of the beach and enjoying the laid-back vibe of the area.
Day 22: Exploring the Western Shores – Lefaga Bay
With the southern coast covered, I decided to venture to the western shores of Upolu, where Lefaga Bay awaited. Known for its dramatic landscapes and uncrowded waves, Lefaga Bay was a spot I had been eager to explore.
I began the day at Return to Paradise Beach, where the waves were fast and challenging, breaking over a shallow reef. The setting was breath-taking, with towering cliffs and dense rainforest framing the beach. The surf here demanded focus and precision, but the reward was some incredible rides.
After a morning of intense surfing, I spent the afternoon exploring the coastline, finding hidden beaches and secluded surf spots. The beauty of Lefaga Bay was unmatched, and I felt a deep sense of adventure as I explored its untamed shores.
Day 23: Relaxing and Reflecting at Lalomanu Beach
With the end of my Samoan adventure in sight, I decided to take a day to relax and reflect at one of my favorite spots—Lalomanu Beach. The waves were small and gentle, perfect for a leisurely session that allowed me to focus on style and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings.
I spent the morning surfing the clear, turquoise waves, taking my time to savor each ride. After a few hours in the water, I took a break to snorkel in the nearby coral gardens, where I encountered a stunning array of marine life.
In the afternoon, I relaxed on the beach, reflecting on the incredible journey I’d had in Samoa. The island had given me so much, and I felt a deep sense of gratitude for the experiences I’d had.
Day 24: A Perfect End to the Day at Salani
For my final session of the day, I returned to Salani Surf Resort, where I had experienced one of the best sunrise sessions of my trip. The waves were just as good as I remembered, with long, powerful rides that provided the perfect end to a perfect day.
The sunset at Salani was breath-taking, with the sky turning shades of pink and purple as the sun dipped below the horizon. I caught a few final waves, savouring each moment as the light faded and the stars began to appear in the sky.
As I paddled back to shore, I felt a deep sense of peace and contentment. Samoa had given me so much—epic waves, stunning scenery, and a connection to the ocean and the island’s culture that I would carry with me long after my journey was over.
